The City of Bécancour is located in the Saint-Laurent plain, Center-du-Québec region, at the crossroads of major communications routes. By bringing together eleven municipal corporations spread over a territory of 434 km2, the city of Bécancour became that day the largest city in Quebec in terms of surface area. Today, the six sectors that make up the urban agglomeration bear witness to the economic vocation which has rapidly shifted from agriculture to heavy industry. In 1968, the creation of an industrial park was proposed. We will have to wait some time before this new project brings hope.
